A Little Bit About US
North Shore Studios is a manufacturing resource collaborative that leverages its internal expertise, external partnerships and facilities to provide education and resources to our local community. We began this work in 2016, at our Charlestown facility, providing access to the workspaces, tools and training that drove community development, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Our efforts culminated last year, in the Charlestown Face Shield Project. We created and led this all volunteer community effort which designed, created and donated over 30,000 high end reusable face shields, to 52 medical facilities in 12 states.
We are excited to be growing by doubling our facility size, moving to Salem MA, rebranding, acquiring some needed new tools, setting up a movement and photography/video space, and offering more rentable booth spaces for other small manufacturers..
By the end of 2021, our goal is to host more than 20 classes each month, providing hands-on instruction in a range of manufacturing trades, business entrepreneurship and movement arts. We will have at least 3 small manufacturing companies sharing our space and 20 part-time community members.
